Barcelona boss Valverde informs board of 3 main targets

According to a reports, recently-appointed Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has informed the Camp Nou board of his three key transfer targets this summer.

Red Devil:

The first name on the list will come as a surprise to few, with his name being persistently linked with a move to Catalunya in recent weeks.

The player in question is Ander Herrera of Manchester United, who Valverde previously worked with during his time spent coaching Athletic Bilbao.

Valverde sees the Spanish international as the ideal addition to his midfield for next season, with Andres Iniesta’s future at the club becoming increasingly uncertain.

The signing of Herrera looks highly unlikely, though, with the 27-year-old having recently stated his intention to remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.

San Mames links:

The second name on the new Barca boss’ list is that of French defender Aymeric Laporte.

The commanding centre-half currently plies his trade with Atheltic Bilbao, where Valverde has overlooked the growth of the 23-year-old for several seasons now.

The Blaugrana will face stiff competition for Laporte, however, with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City said to be readying a substantial bid.

Gunners star:

The final name on the list of the Liga giants is a player who once plied his trade at Barcelona, in the form of Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

Though he failed to make a first team appearance at the club, Bellerin spent much of his youth career coming through the ranks at La Masia, with his former employers known to be long-term admirers of the pacy right-back.

Bellerin has repeatedly insisted that he is happy in North London in the past, but, after a difficult season during which he was targeted as a scapegoat by fans of the club, the talented young Spaniard is said to be open to a move back to his native country.
