Foods that make you smell

Such foods, when broken down release Sulfur compounds which is what gives you body odor.

Although this is not to say that you should completely keep off these foods, you may want to go slow on them when going for an interview or a date.

Here are some of them:

1. Alcohol

Glass of beer (The Green Head)

After a night out drinking, you might still smell booze the following day even after showering. This is because alcohol first goes to your bloodstream before leaving your body. Its smell thus has a way to get through the pores and sweat glands and you don’t have to tell anyone that you had been drinking.

2. Red meat

Red meat has sulfur compounds and is also likely to make you smell. According to a research published on the journal of Chemical Senses, men who ate red meat for two weeks had more pungent underarm sweat as compared to those who ate a vegetarian diet.

3. Asparagus

Asparagus cause body odor (Serious Eats)

You are likely to start experiencing the odor immediately after eating asparagus. Asparagus contain a highly water soluble substance called methyl mercaptan. This smelly compound leads to body odor that strongly presents itself during urination.

4. Cruciferous veggies

Cruciferous vegetables (Juicing for Health)

Cabbage, broccoli, and Brussel sprouts are rich in fiber and vitamins that are great for your body. However, they also contain sulfur which is responsible for the rotten egg like smell after eating them. But since they are healthy, you just have to eat them with moderation.

5. Garlic and onions

They are super healthy especially when consumed in their raw form. However, you might want to keep them off if you are trying to avoid body odor because they also have sulfur.
